Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco was in Basey, Samar recently on the invitation of Governor Sharee Ann Tan to launch three new tourism circuits in the province—the Tandaya Trail I, Secret Kitchens of Samar Gastronomy Tour, and Mabaysay Cultural River Cruise—offering immersive experiences that showcase Samar’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and culinary delights.
These new tourism offerings highlight the collaborative efforts of local communities and stakeholders within the tourism value chain in shaping the tourism landscape of Samar.
The presence of Frasco reaffirmed the Department’s full support to equalizing tourism development through new tourism circuits consistent with the NTDP 2023-2028.
“We anchor the transformation of Philippine tourism upon the strength of the Filipino identity that is alive and well in our culture, our heritage, our traditions, and yes, even our food.”
“Under the National Tourism Development Plan approved by President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., we anchor the transformation of Philippine tourism upon the strength of the Filipino identity that is alive and well in our culture, our heritage, our traditions, and yes, even our food,” the tourism chief said.
“The direction of the Marcos administration is, that while we will continue to market and promote the Philippines as a place for fun and adventure, we seek to reintroduce the Philippines to the world by allowing them to get to know the heart and soul of the Filipino – and that you will find here in Samar,” the tourism head added.
Tandaya Trail I is a hiking and trekking adventure that takes visitors through some of the province’s most stunning landscapes.
