Governor Bonz Dolor awarded Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Frasco the “Beloved Friend of Oriental Mindoro,” citation, in recognition of her unwavering support for the province of Oriental Mindoro.
The recognition rites was held at the inauguration ceremony of Plaza Del Gobernador: Liwasan ng Mamamayan recently.
To show their appreciation, Frasco was given a 100% handwoven sablay of the Hanunoo Mangyans, one of the eight indigenous groups in the province.
The loose garment was adorned with Mangyan handwriting, which translates to “friend of Oriental Mindoro”.
“The award is reflective of the province’s appreciation for the tourism head’s contributions and collaborative relationship with the LGU of Oriental Mindoro.”
