In a move towards urban redevelopment, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte met with Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco at the DOT Central Office in Makati City.
The meeting tackled the city government’s proposal to transform the Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) into a vibrant green haven for public enjoyment and cultural enrichment.
The redevelopment of the Quezon Memorial Circle is envisioned to be an urban renewal project as well as a space where history, culture, and community can flourish in unison.

As this project moves forward, it hopes to bolster local and foreign tourism, providing a green oasis in the heart of the city and a tribute to its rich heritage.
The proposal is a comprehensive masterplan, which envisions the 27-hectare historical park as a dynamic recreational destination.
“This is clearly one prime example of an LGU (local government unit)-driven initiative that deserves national government support.”
