FERNANDO TO BULAKENYOS: RESPECT, HONOR PH FLAG

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando sent a message far and wide to Bulakenyos and Filipinos alike, to take pride in, value, and show respect for the national flag during the celebration of National Flag Days this morning coinciding the Flag Rasing Ceremony held in front of the Provincial Capitol in the City of Malolos.

With the theme, “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.”, Fernando underscored that the national flag is not just a piece of cloth – it’s a sacred symbol of the Filipino ideals and traditions, representing sovereignty as a nation.

“Ang Bulacan, bilang isa sa walong probinsyang nag-alsa laban sa pamumuno ng mga Kastila at lumaban para sa kalayaan, ay patuloy na nagpapakita ng diwa ng bayanihan at pagmamahal sa ating Inang Bayan.”

“Ang watawat ng Pilipinas ay sagisag ng ating kasaysayan at pagkakakilanlan. Sa kulay nitong pula, puti, at bughaw, kasama ang araw na may walong sinag at tatlong bituin, ipinapaalala nito sa atin ang tapang, kapayapaan, at pagkakaisa ng ating lahi. Ang Bulacan, bilang isa sa walong probinsyang nag-alsa laban sa pamumuno ng mga Kastila at lumaban para sa kalayaan, ay patuloy na nagpapakita ng diwa ng bayanihan at pagmamahal sa ating Inang Bayan,” the governor stressed.

He added that flags will be displayed in all government agencies, offices, businesses, schools and homes from May 28 to June 12, 2024 as a way of showing respect to the national flag.

Fernando also mentioned that the youth should be educated of the rules and prohibitions stated in the “Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines” or the Republic Act No. 8491.

Prior the program, a flag raising ceremony, singing of the national anthem, Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat was led by Fernando, Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and the Provincial Government of Bulacan department heads headed by Provincial Administrator Antonette V. Constantino.

Meanwhile, he congratulated the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Anne Manalo who is set to represent the country in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in Mexico.
