FARM-TO-MARKET ROAD IN BUKIDNON FINISHED – VILLAR

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 5.9-kilometer farm-to-market road (FMR) project in the municipality of Kadilingan, Bukidnon Province.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, the completed the FMR project in the amount of P67-million is a convergence project of DPWH with the Department of Agrarian Reform – Mindanao Sustainable Agrarian and Agriculture Development (DAR-MinSAAD) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The project involves the concreting of a 2-lane gravel local road traversing Barangay Cabadiangan to Barangay Matampay, Municipality of Kadingilan, Bukidnon.

DAR-MinSAAD project aims to increase household incomes by enabling the farmers and their organizations to engage in more profitable income-generating activities, on a sustainable basis, through the provision of rural infrastructure and capacity building in the target settlement areas.

“This farm-to-market road was implemented to minimize the transportation and delivery cost of agricultural products, hence increasing the Kadilingan town’s agricultural productivity and income of small-scale farmers,” Villar stressed.

“The P67-M project is a convergence project of DPWH with the Department of Agrarian Reform – Mindanao Sustainable Agrarian and Agriculture Development (DAR-MinSAAD) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).”

The completed FMR was turned over by DPWH Bukidnon 2nd District Engineering Office to the municipality of Kadingilan recently.
