Former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go is pushing for the term extension of incumbent barangay officials from two to four years.
Go, who graced the Patimyas Ani Festival recently in Quezon, Nueva Ecija, said two years will never be enough for barangay officials to have their programs realized.
“Gagawin po nating four years yan (we will make it four years),” the former presidential aide told village officials present in the festivity.
“We will make it four years.”
His pronouncement was met by applause from village officials.
Go said he already has asked President Rodrigo Duterte about this concern.
Meanwhile, he encouraged Novo Ecijanos to support President Duterte and his programs for the remaining years of his term.
Go likewise asked the local officials to intensify the fight against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption in this town.
“Local officials in Quezon, Nueva Ecija should intensify the fight against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption.”
He also shared his 12-point legislative agenda, particularly in agriculture, where Nueva Ecija is one of the top rice-producing provinces.
