Senator Bong Go reiterated the importance of credible, competent, and trustworthy management should the proposed Maharlika Wealth Fund be enacted into law.
In a recent interview after aiding residents in Pandi, Bulacan, Go said that the proposed measure will continue to be the subject of heated debate due to various concerns but reiterated that the interest of the Filipino public must be the primary consideration.
“Napakahabang debate ‘yan, lalung-lalo na po napakaimportante kung sino po ang mamamahala kung saka-sakaling matutuloy, who will manage,” the legislator said.
“Dapat mapag-aralan ito ng mabuti. Malaking halaga y’an. Importante walang masayang na pondo ng bayan lalo na sa panahon ngayon na hirap na nga ang mga Pilipino,” the lawmaker stressed.

“Unahin natin palagi ang interes ng bansa at kung ano makakabuti sa mga Pilipino lalo na sa mga mahihirap,” the senator added.
He said that the management of the proposed fund, which will be composed of contributions from a number of different financial institutions, must be thoroughly studied to ensure that it will be free from political interference.
Go added that credible, competent and trustworthy managers must ensure not even a single centavo will be wasted.
“Kailangan competent, trustworthy, at saka talagang maaasahan mo na walang pondong masasayang dito.”
