A Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcer who carried a 5-year-old sick boy to a hospital is now hailed for his good deed.
MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim commended Jeremi Jorge Lukban, MMDA Traffic Enforcer 3, for not hesitating to help a mother who was rushing her son to the Alabang Medical Center for high fever.
“It is a clear manifestation of his high sense of dedication to public service.”
“Mr. Lukban’s good deed is worthy of emulation. It is a clear manifestation of his high sense of dedication to public service. We are proud that he was able to help a mother in need,” said Lim.
The incident that happened over the weekend while Lukban was performing his duty, turned viral over the social media app Facebook.
While manning Alabang Zapote Road, he took notice of a woman inside a vehicle that was forcing its way out of traffic. The woman was also asking for help.
Lukban offered to carry the boy who was having chills due to high fever to the emergency room of the hospital.
Lukban immediately responded and approached the woman, later identified as Mit Javellana, the mother of the boy.
On learning if the situation, he offered to carry the boy who was having chills due to high fever to the emergency room of the hospital, located some 200 meters away from his post.
Lukban’s deed was later recounted by Javellana in a Facebook post.
The MMDA said Lukban will be awarded a certificate of commendation during the agency’s flag raising ceremony on Monday, January 27.
Currently on job order status, Lukban will also be given a permanent position at the agency as reward for his deed.
