The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that construction of a 2.4 lane kilometer road leading to the ongoing Philippine Sports Training Center (PSTC) in Bagac, Bataan is currently in the works.
DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller Tolentino, said that the ongoing P55-million road project will provide faster access to the state-of-the-art sports complex for the country’s national and local athletes.
“The DPWH Bataan Second District Engineering Office (DEO) is implementing the road project.”
“The DPWH Bataan Second District Engineering Office (DEO) is implementing the road project that involves the construction of a two-lane road with 280-mm thick pavement; sidewalks with curb and gutter; and, 1.5-meter-wide standard bike lane,” Bonoan added.
Since construction kicked-off in May 2022, the road construction project has already reached an accomplishment rate of 60 percent as of October 2022 with target completion eyed in early 2023.
When completed, the project will connect the PSTC to Gov. J.J. Linao Road in Balanga City via World Bank Road.
PSTC is a big-ticket project of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) currently being developed on a 25-hectare land in Barangay Parang in Bagac town that will showcase facilities and amenities that include administrative, sports, science, and medical centers, as well as dormitories for athletes and coaches.
