DPWH STARTS CONSTRUCTION ON NLRC BUILDING

A 15-story office building is underway for the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) in Agham Road, Quezon City.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently commenced the construction of the building, through a groundbreaking event coinciding on the 48th founding anniversary of NLRC.

“The new NLRC office building will be equipped with office spaces, conference halls, public spaces, multipurpose rooms, and parking lots for the convenience of the workers.”

DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta Malaluan, said that the new NLRC office building will be equipped with office spaces, conference halls, public spaces, multipurpose rooms, and parking lots for the convenience of the workers.

“More than just providing flexibility and convenience to its employees, the project will deliver improved process, and facility to accommodate NLRC’s clients, employers, to other members of the transacting public,” Bonoan stressed.

Since the 1990s, the NLRC personnel have occupied various temporary offices before eventually renting a place at Ben-Lor Building.

Years of planning and collaboration between the NLRC, DPWH, and DOLE brought a permanent home for the officials and employees of the agency.
