DPWH Aklan District Engineering Office has concreted 550 lineal meters of the road and is expediting the paving of the remaining portion of the access road.
“When completed, the 2-lane access road project will provide a better roadway leading to beaches in Barangay Baybay and to Bakhawan Park located along the river in Barangay Alibagon, which can potentially boost the economy and tourism industry in Makato,” Bueno explained.
Located along a vast water area, the neighboring barangays of Tugas, Calimbajan, Baybay, and Alibagon are also seen to benefit from the new access road as it will hasten travel to fishing facilities, thereby helping improve the local industry and economy.
