DPWH: ROAD TO PAGUDPUD’S DARNA FALLS 55% COMPLETE

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is ramping up the construction of the 3.77-kilometer Tarrag-Caramuangen Road to boost tourism and local economy in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.

In his update to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel Tan said that the P96.49-million road project with a 15-meter bridge component in Barangay Tarrag and Barangay Dampig, aims to enhance connectivity, facilitating a safer access for tourists and residents in the area.

“Once completed, the Tarrag-Caramuangen Road Project will offer a safer route for tourists visiting Darna Falls.”

Through the initiative of DPWH Ilocos Norte 1st District Engineering Office, the construction of the road project is now 56 percent completed and is on track for completion within the second quarter of 2025.

The tourism road project is funded under the 2024 national budget and aims to enhance transportation efficiency, boost economic development, and improve the overall quality of life for the community.
