Farming communities now benefit from a paved access road completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the municipality of Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.
DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia identified the project as the concrete paving of a 2-lane, 2.5-kilometer road which now better connects the far-flung Barangay Dalangin to the national road.
“The concrete road now allows local rubber and rice farmers to quickly and safely transport their agricultural products to bigger markets at a lower cost.”
“The concrete road now allows local rubber and rice farmers to quickly and safely transport their agricultural products to bigger markets at a lower cost, which will help boost socio-economic growth in the area,” Dia explained.
Residents of Barangay Dalangin are grateful for the completed project as they no longer have to endure muddy or dusty roads while traveling to buy supplies or access government services.
Aside from portland concrete cement paving of road, other activities on the project include slope protection and installation of metal guardrails and pavement markings.
DPWH Zamboanga Sibugay 2nd District Engineering Office implemented the road concreting project in the amount of P90 million.
