DPWH: NEW PAGASA BUILDING 38% FINISHED

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) are working together to provide safe and modern office space for PAG-ASA inside the Science Garden Complex, Diliman, Quezon City.

Citing a report from DPWH Unified Project Management Office – Buildings Management Cluster, DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan said that the ongoing six-story building project with a gross floor area of 8,608 square meters is now 38 percent accomplished.

“This new PAG-ASA building will be able to provide a conducive office facility for our scientists, which they deserve considering their significant role in the protection of life and property,” Bonoan stressed.

When completed, the building will also have an auditorium and additional rooms to comfortably accommodate personnel of the official weather bureau.

The project’s scope of works includes a reinforced concrete foundation and building frame from the ground floor to the sixth floor with roof deck, drywall, masonry walls, architectural and waterproofing works, curtain wall façade, mechanical works, plumbing, and sanitary works, drainage system, and electronic works for a total cost of P269 million.
