DPWH MARKS 126TH ANNIVERSARY WITH FUN RUN

Hundreds of participants joined the 2024 Anniversary Fun Run of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Central Office. 

The event was part of the lineup of activities for the agency’s 126th founding anniversary, approved by Secretary Manuel Bonoan and proposed by the DPWH Social Affairs Committee Chairperson, Undersecretary Marichu Palafox.

“The large turnout of the fun run is a testament to the participants’ excitement and enthusiasm.”

In his address to the employees, OIC-Assistant Secretary Michael Villafranca lauded the large turnout, noting it as a testament to the participants’ excitement and enthusiasm.

He emphasized that the fun run not only fosters camaraderie within the DPWH organization but also underscores the importance of sports and physical activities for maintaining good health.

The fun run kicked off from the DPWH Head Office Railroad Drive exit, traversing Bonifacio Drive, Katigbak Parkway, Independence Road, South Road, Roxas Boulevard, and returning to the DPWH Head Office entrance along Bonifacio Drive.

Small raffle items were awarded to lucky winners drawn at random.

Top finishers of the fun run were given certificates of recognition by the DPWH Central Office Union, headed by its President Rolando Rodolfo. Small raffle items were awarded to lucky winners drawn at random.

Other notable attendees included Undersecretary Anne Sharlyne Lapuz, along with Service Directors Pelita Galvez, Vanessa Villanueva and Randy Del Rosario; Bureau Directors Jonathan Araullo and Reynaldo Faustino; and Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Project Directors Soledad Florencio, Benjamin Bautista, and Rodrigo Delos Reyes.
