An improved access road recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now ensures safe and convenient travel to Tapal Wharf and White Beaches in Barangay Tapal, Ubay, Bohol.
Citing a report from DPWH Region 7 Director Edgar Tabacon, Secretary Mark Villar said that the road project will provide ease of access to ports and tourist destinations and eventually promote socio-economic development in the municipality of Ubay.
“The completed road will also safely integrate container terminal traffic.”
“Besides enhancing land transport facilities and easing traffic, the completed road will also safely integrate container terminal traffic within existing operations as the local port’s water and land traffic continues to grow,” Villar added.
Covering 3.1 kilometers of concrete pavement, the access road project also included provision of slope protection, reflectorized pavement markings and street lightings.
The project was undertaken by DPWH Bohol 2nd District Engineering Office in the amount of P10 million.
