The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed maintenance work along the national road connecting the cities of Pagadian and Zamboanga City thereby enhancing transport connectivity in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia, the preventive maintenance of the 600-meter portion of Pagadian City-Zamboanga City Road was done to address wear-and-tear on road pavement.

The project involved asphalt overlay and installation of road safety markers and thermoplastic pavement markings to improve road visibility.
The DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office implemented the P10 million preventive maintenance project under the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
“The completion of this segment of the national road in Zamboanga City is much anticipated not only by DPWH but also by residents as it will enhance mobility and promote economic development in the region,” Dia stressed.
