In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Director Khadaffy Tanggol said that the completed project involved the installation of an active wire mesh system covering an area of 2,734 square meters, with a total length of 88 lineal meters along Sitio Gurel, Barangay Poblacion, Bokod section of Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya Road.

Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road is a national secondary road network that leads to popular tourist destinations in Benguet, such as the Mummy Caves and Lakes in Kabayan and Mt. Pulag in Bokod.

Serving as an alternative route and a shortcut to provinces in Region 2 and some areas of the Cordillera, the road also plays a significant role in the agricultural supply chain, enabling Northern Benguet farmers to transport their products more efficiently.

Funded under the 2024 General Infrastructure Program, the road slope protection project was implemented by DPWH Benguet 1st District Engineering Office.
