A road rehabilitation project completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now alleviates traffic congestion, upgrading transportation access and road safety for the communities in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.
Implemented by the DPWH Southern Mindoro District Engineering Office (DEO), the road rehabilitation project along Bongabong-Sagana-Roxas-San Aquilino Road involves the repair and reconstruction of the damaged 614-meter or 1.2-lane kilometer road and the installation of covered drainage canals as a safety component in mitigating the frequent flooding in the municipality of Bongabong.
“The road rehabilitation project is a significant measure in managing the traffic volume and persistent flooding in the area.”
In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office IV-B Director Gerald Pacanan said that the road rehabilitation project is a significant measure in managing the traffic volume and persistent flooding in the area, which is expected to facilitate efficient transportation of local goods to the neighboring towns and barangays.
