The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the construction of a 2-lane road traversing the mountainous barangay of Cawayan in the town of Asipulo, Ifugao Province.
DPWH Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Director Khadaffy Tanggol, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan said that the completed road stretching 3.5 kilometers now links Barangay Cawayan to the town proper, allowing a safer and more convenient access for locals.
“The road also serves as an alternative route from Ifugao going to Ambaguio – Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, benefiting the mobility and connectivity between Cordirella and Cagayan Regions.”

Implemented by the DPWH CAR Regional Office, the project in Barangay Cawayan costing P134.85 million also covered the construction of reinforced concrete pipe and box culvert, curb and gutter for drainage.
The road forms part of the missing link of Kiangan – Asipolo – Ambaguio – Bayombong Road.
