The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed a new concrete road project benefitting residents of Barangay Tarrag, in the town of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.
DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel Tan reported to Secretary Manuel Bonoan and Undersecretary for Regional Operations Eugenio Pipo, Jr. that the project with an allocation of ₱11.7 Million, covers the construction of a 671-meter road and 756-meter open canal.
Scope of works include excavation, embankment, portland cement concrete pavement, reinforcing steel, structural concrete, pipe culvert, grouted riprap for canal lining and stone masonry for the slope protection.
“It is connected to the Maligaya provincial road to enhance interconnectivity within the province.”
“The road project is expected to boost economic activity and improve accessibility going to and from the business center. Furthermore, it is connected to the Maligaya provincial road to enhance interconnectivity within the province,” Tan stressed.
The Tarrag farm-to-market road project was implemented by DPWH Ilocos Norte First District Engineering Office under the leadership of District Engineer Glenn Miguel.
