DPWH FINISHES ORIENTAL MINDORO ROAD PROJECTS

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has upgraded unpaved roads to concrete cement pavements significantly enhancing transportation access for residents and local producers in Naujan and Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

In Sitio II, Barangay Aurora, Naujan, the DPWH Mindoro District Engineering Office has completed a 415-meter road concreting project which also involves the construction of shoulders on both sides and slope protection to enhance the roads resilience against unfavorable weather conditions.

In a report to Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH Mindoro District Engineer Salvador Abad said that the completed road pavement costing P4.94 Million significantly reduces the risk of road accidents in the area, improving the delivery of goods and access to essential services, hence stimulating the local economy and productivity of Naujan.

Meanwhile, the 2-lane, 446-meter access road traversing Barangay Anilao to Barangay Masaguisi now provides a robust transport infrastructure that contributes to the agricultural progress and developments in Bongabong, enhancing mobility and product trading for its farmers and residents.

Implemented by the DPWH Southern Mindoro District Engineering Office, the project amounting to P4.86 Million is also installed with retaining walls and shoulders on both sides that serve as safety components, reinforcing the durability of the all-weather road.
