The two-story building is built with a kitchen, storage room, and reception area on the first floor while the second floor has 10 bedrooms equipped with individual toilets and baths, for a total cost of P14.48-million funded under the General Appropriations Acts of 2020 and 2021.
Tan also reported the partial completion of the access road leading to Tangadan Falls, a local tourist hotspot in San Gabriel, La Union.
“DPWH is fast-tracking full completion of the roadway leading to the main site, while other ongoing activities include roadway excavation and installation of stone masonry.”
“DPWH is fast-tracking full completion of the roadway leading to the main site, while other ongoing activities include roadway excavation and installation of stone masonry to protect residents and tourists from cliff hazards, especially during the rainy season,” he added.
Funded with P18-million through the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program of the Department of Tourism and implemented under the DPWH Convergence and Special Support Program, the 0.400-lane kilometer road improvement is set to provide safer and more convenient access for tourists visiting Tangadan Falls.
“DPWH aims to complete more infrastructure projects that improve transport not just for the residents but also boost tourism for economic development,” Mercado stressed.
