The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed a flood mitigation structure aimed at reducing the adverse effects of high water levels along Ballili River in Tabangaoen, Municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet.
The project involves constructing a 712-meter revetment wall, a 266-meter stone masonry structure, and a 54-meter rubble concrete gravity wall to protect nearby communities and establishments from flood damage.
In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH CAR Director Khadaffy Tanggol noted that the project focuses on safeguarding agricultural areas and crucial infrastructure located near the riverbanks by employing durable and effective flood control structures.
The project commenced civil works in February 2024, and was completed on November 2024.

Funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the P86.8-million flood mitigation project was implemented by the DPWH-Benguet 1st District Engineering Office.
