The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently delivered additional 10,000 surgical masks to major public hospitals handling COVID-19 patients in Metro Manila.
Under Secretary Mark Villar’s instruction, DPWH Undersecretary Emil Sadain, who is also the head of the Task Force on Augmentation of Healthcare Facilities, facilitated the distribution of donated medical supplies to Fabella Hospital, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine General Hospital, Philippine Heart Center and Philippine Lung Center, each receiving a box containing 2,000 pieces of surgical masks.
Villar said the newly-delivered masks were donations received by Sadain who is also in-charge of the Unified Project Management Office operations. The donations were from international construction companies China-Geo Engineering Corporation, Quingjan Group of Company, and Hunnan Construction.
“We’re glad that we are being tapped by generous foreign construction firms who want to help our frontline workers.”
