The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished the construction of a P72.3 million oval track which can be used for major sporting events in the province of Taytay, Rizal.
“The project entails the installation of 8,510 square meters of artificial grass for the football field and initial construction of a 59.5-meter road network for alignment 1 and 116 meters for alignment 2,” according to DPWH Region IV-A Director Jovel Mendoza.
Other works include mobilization, earthworks, installation of sheet piles, concreting of pile cups, hand-laid rock embankments, embankments from borrow, and demobilization.
“The oval track is part of the 69,300 square meter Taytay Sports Complex Project located in Barangay Muzon, which will also feature a multi-purpose building, stadium bleachers, and an Olympic sized pool.”

“Once completed, the facility will serve as a new sporting event venue in CALABARZON which will nurture the talents of Rizaleños and boost the morale of Filipino athletes,” he concluded.
