Riverside communities are now better protected from the harrowing impact of flooding following the rehabilitation of the flood control structure downstream section of the Lasang River in Davao City, completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Based on the report of DPWH Regional Office 11 Director Juby Cordon to Secretary Manuel Bonoan, the completion of rehabilitation works along the vital section of the Lasang River, extending towards the Lasang Bridge is a significant measure in strengthening the riverbank’s foundation against flooding and erosion.

Implemented by DPWH Davao City 3rd District Engineering Office, the project covers the construction and rehabilitation of 234.6-lineal meter concrete revetment wall with steel sheet piles fortifying the structure’s capacity and prolong its service cycle.
Costing P49 Million, the completed project is funded under the 2024 Regular Infrastructure Program.
