The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a flood control project in the municipality of Mallig, Isabela just in time to prevent water intrusion of river to residential areas this rainy season.
DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said that the revetment structure in Barangay Casili will safeguard the flood-prone residential and agricultural areas and helps in preventing the water overflow and soil erosion along Mallig River.
Based on a report by DPWH-2 Regional Director Loreta Malaluan, the Casili Flood Control Project involves the construction of a 743.60-linear meter stretch having two sections consisting of rubble concrete and reinforced concrete revetment wall on steel sheet piles foundation.

The P44-million project was implemented by DPWH Isabela Second District Engineering Office.
