Motorists are now reaping the benefits of a concrete paved road completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along a portion of the Dumangas-Barotac Nuevo Diversion Road in Dumangas, Iloilo.
According to DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Sanny Boy Oropel, the project involved the construction of a 634.1-linear meter long, 13.4-meter wide concrete road with two lanes or one lane for each direction.

The upgraded road section also helps alleviate traffic congestion along other existing routes, enhancing local transportation and improving overall travel along the diversion road.
Other features of the project include solar LED streetlights and reflectorized pavement markings to enhance road safety and visibility.
The project was implemented by DPWH Iloilo 2nd District Engineering Office in the amount of P29.3 million.
