The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) constructed a multi-purpose building in Dipaculao, Aurora to improve the disaster readiness and emergency management of residents in times of calamities.
In a report submitted to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan and Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller Tolentino said that the completed building structure in the amount of P34.7 million is located in the elevated area of the coastal barangay of Ipil, which is one of the flood-prone areas in the Municipality of Dipaculao.
The Barangay Ipil evacuation center can provide a temporary shelter to about 500 evacuees who will be displaced in times of calamities.

The newly-built evacuation facility is equipped with two laundry areas; two shower stalls, two designated toilets for persons with disabilities (PWD); and six separate comfort rooms for men and women.
It also has an administrative office; breastfeeding, clinic and prayer rooms; a kitchen and mess hall.

Aside from serving as an evacuation center, Dipaculao residents can also utilize the multi-purpose building as an alternative venue for sports and other community activities as it has a basketball court, stage, and training areas.
