The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a portion of the access road that will provide locals and tourists a safer and more convenient travel going to Binadlan Falls, an emerging tourist destination in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
Traversing Binalbagan town proper to Sitio Binadlan in Barangay Bia-ao, the newly-completed 784-lineal meter road section is part of the 10.57-kilometer multi-year convergence project with the Department of Tourism (DOT).
Citing a report from DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie Bueno, Secretary Manuel Bonoan explained that Binadlan Falls, otherwise known as “Bambi Falls,” is one of the most beautiful destinations in Binalbagan. Hence, the continuation of a concrete road is essential to draw more tourists to the area, thereby opening more development opportunities for local tourism and economy.
“The concrete road will also serve as a major route to the upper barangays of Binalbagan and the neighboring town of Isabela and the city of Himamaylan.”
“Besides improving access to tourist attractions in the southern portion of the province, the concrete road will also serve as a major route to the upper barangays of Binalbagan and the neighboring town of Isabela and the city of Himamaylan,” Bonoan added.
With better road access, local communities in the barangay no longer have to travel through muddy and dusty roads and can now better transport their products and services to the town and vice versa.
The completed road section was undertaken by DPWH Negros Occidental 2nd District Engineering Office in the amount of P38.58 million funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
