DPWH BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF LUCENA CITY SEAPORT ACCESS ROAD – VILLAR

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now speeding up the construction and improvement of access roads leading to seaports in Lucena City, Quezon Province.

Expected to boost tourism, improve the delivery of goods and services, and reduce transportation costs, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said the project’s 79 percent completion rate is good news for both residents and tourists who will be benefitting from the construction and rehabilitation of the Quezon Eco-Tourism Cotta-Dalahican-Talao-Talao-Mayao-Road.

“Our priority is to provide local industries, large or small-scale, with all possible assistance for the continuous thriving of their businesses in the years to come.”

“Access roads to ports play a key role in the growth of the region’s economy. Our priority is to provide local industries, large or small-scale, with all possible assistance for the continuous thriving of their businesses in the years to come,” Villar said.

The access road project involves the opening of the 355.77-lineal meter road and the concreting of the 1,349.10-lineal meter existing road, with drainage and slope protection.

Targeted to be completed by March 2020, the P87 million project is funded under the 2019 DPWH Regular Infrastructure Fund and implemented by the DPWH Quezon Second District Engineering Office (DEO).
