The Department of Health (DOH), led by Secretary Ted Herbosa, and SM Supermalls led by President Steven Tan, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, marking the launch of Wellness Centers across selected SM malls.
This partnership aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and promote wellness through strategically located centers in high-traffic areas.

The initiative is part of the DOH’s commitment to the 8-Point Action Agenda for Health, which seeks to provide quality healthcare services to every Filipino (Bawat Pilipino), every community (Bawat Komunidad), and every health worker and institution (Bawat Health Worker at Institusyon).
These Wellness Centers will be integrated into SM’s Government Service Express (GSE) Centers, providing vital primary care facilities in a convenient and accessible environment.
“By bringing essential health services closer to communities, the DOH and SM Supermalls aim to ensure that more Filipinos have access to the care they need towards a Bagong Pilipinas kung saan Bawat Buhay Mahalaga,” the health chief stressed.
Key attendees at the event included DOH Undersecretary (Usec) Emmie Liza Perez-Chiong, Usec. Elmer Punzalan, Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia, Officer-in-Charge Assistant Secretary Albert Francis Domingo, and several other DOH Directors.
From SM Prime Holdings, Inc., Vice President Junias Eusebio and other senior executives, including Pasay City Health Officer Dr. Tiong Eng Roland Tan, were also in attendance.
