“I encourage all hospitals, both government and private, to participate in the activities of the National Hospital Week. This milestone is more than just a celebration; it is a call to action,” Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said.

This year’s theme, “Ligtas Pinas! Dekalidad na Serbisyong Ospital,” underscores the collective commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for all patients through fostering unity, collaboration, and camaraderie.

“In celebration of National Hospital Week, JRRMMC is proud to offer free medical services to senior citizens throughout the week.”

“In celebration of National Hospital Week, JRRMMC is proud to offer free medical services to senior citizens throughout the week. It is our way of giving back to our community and honoring the invaluable contributions of our elderly Filipino residents,” said Dr. Wenceslao Llauderes, Medical Center Chief (MCC) of JRRMMC.

The week-long celebration commenced on August 5 during the simultaneous flag raising ceremony of all DOH hospitals which will be spearheaded by Herbosa, and the MCCs of participating DOH hospitals.

On the second day, a wreath-laying ceremony was conducted at the monument of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal in Luneta Park to commemorate his contribution in the field of medicine.

It will also involve the inauguration of the online First Hospital Summit on August 7-8, 2024, which will be led by Herbosa, Undersecretary Abdullah Dumama Jr. and Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia. This will be followed by engaging discussions with a distinguished panel of patient safety advocates.

The panel will be composed of Dr. Maria Lourdes K. Otayza, MCC II of Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center; Atty. Rey Cris A. Panugaling, Head of the Office of Strategy Management at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center; Dr. Michael Joseph S. Diño, Director of the Research Development and Innovation Center at Our Lady of Fatima University; Pio Justin V. Asuncion, Chief Health Program Officer at the DOH; Dr. Eillen A. Discussions will be focused on enhancing quality of care, advancing compassionate service, and promoting safety initiatives and practices within the hospitals.

“This is also our time to highlight patient safety.”

“A health care provider network founded on strong primary care is completed by hospitals that deliver inpatient services. This is also our time to highlight patient safety,” Herbosa stressed.

“Let us work together to create a safe hospital where every patient is guaranteed quality and compassionate healthcare service tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas kung saan Bawat Buhay Mahalaga,” he added.

The week will also culminate with the Hospital Olympics, a collaborative and friendly sports competition among staff of participating DOH Hospitals at the Marikina Sports Complex on August 9, 2024.
