Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon expressed gratitude to the NLEX Corp. for heeding the call of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to impose a temporary toll relief from the Balintawak to Meycauayan portion of the expressway until emergency repairs of the Marilao Interchange Bridge have been completed.
Dizon said the toll relief will help ease the burden of lost time for motorists and commuters along the expressway due to vehicular gridlock stretching as far as Balintawak and Bocaue.
“The toll relief will help ease the burden of lost time for motorists and commuters along the expressway due to vehicular gridlock stretching as far as Balintawak and Bocaue.”
The transport chief earlier instructed NLEX to expedite the repair works which should be completed by the end of the month.

NLEX Corp. closed two middle sections of the expressway in Marilao for round the clock safety repairs of the damaged bridge after a trailer truck, exceeding the allowable vertical limit, collided with the interchange.
