Senator Raffy Tulfo is happy that the first batch of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) displaced by bankruptcies of Saudi Arabian firms several years ago have finally started receiving their insurance compensation.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced recently that over 1,000 cheques were already issued by the Saudi Arabian government to OFWs, as part of the promise of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
The 1,104 Alinma Bank Indemnity Cheques processed by the Overseas Filipino Bank and Land Bank is valued at P868,740,544.

The President said the payouts had been personally promised by the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman to him during their meeting in Bangkok, Thailand last November 2022.
The legislator thanked Marcos for his dedication in ensuring the welfare of OFWs, as well as Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud for fulfilling his promise.
