DAVAO CITY OBSERVES DISABILITY PREVENTION WEEK

Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte issued a proclamation “Declaring July 14-20, 2024, as the 46th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week in Davao City”.

Duterte’s Proclamation No. 07 is in recognition of the efforts of the national government in promoting the welfare of the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The proclamation is in line with Presidential Proclamation No. 1870 s. 1979, as amended by Presidential Proclamation No. 361 s. 2000, which declares the third week of July every year as National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) week and will take place from July 14-20 this year.

For 2024 the NDPR Week has the theme “Promoting Inclusion: Celebrating Abilities and Advocating Access”. 

The NDPR Week 2024 recognizes the importance of ensuring that PWDs enjoy the same rights and opportunities as everyone else towards a future where all may continue to become partners in nation-building. 

“The City Government of Davao is committed to supporting and taking the lead in implementing programs, projects, and services for the welfare of PWDs,” the proclamation reads. 

“I encourage all local government offices, national line agencies, non-government organizations, and people’s organizations in Davao City to join the activities.”
