Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines president and Quirino governor Dax Cua on Thursday called on his fellow leaders to ensure a safe and orderly conduct of the upcoming Undas holidays.
“I am sure that we have already laid out a plan of action for Undas. But nevertheless, I would still like to remind my fellow leaders to double- and triple-check our protocols to ensure that we can all celebrate All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day safely and with minimal hassle,” Cua said.
He said that with the expected influx of people to public places, the incidence of crime and emergencies should not be discounted.
“Let’s be prepared to augment the uniformed personnel deployed in public places such as churches and cemeteries with our own personnel, and also prepare our health facilities in case of emergency.”

Cua also urged the public to still practice health and safety protocols to avoid acquiring airborne illnesses.
“Magdala po tayo ng payong bilang proteksyon sa araw at ulan, face mask para maiwasang makalanghap o magkalat ng virus, alcohol, atbp. Bagamat wala na pong pandemya, mas mabuti nang maging handa upang hindi tayo magkasakit,” he said.

He also urged the public to do their part in maintaining the cleanliness of public spaces.
“Magtulungan na rin po sana tayo upang manatiling malinis ang mga sementeryo at iba pang espasyo. These public spaces are shared spaces, and we have a responsibility to our fellows in the community and to ourselves to maintain their cleanliness so everyone can benefit from them,” Cua said.
