Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Chairman Junie E. Cua on Monday vowed that the agency would aim for continued improvement to better serve the Filipino people.
This, as the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) recently commended the agency for the marked improvement in attaining their Performance Scorecard targets in 2022.
Cua said the PCSO reported a validated Performance Scorecard rating of 92.03 percent in 2022, which is a marked increase from its previous 56.30 percent rating.
“Kami sa PCSO ay hindi kuntento sa status quo. We strive for continued improvement para mas mapaglingkuran natin ang sambayanan,” Cua said.
During the PCSO’s 89th founding anniversary celebrations on Oct. 27, GCG Chairperson Atty. Marius P. Corpus highlighted the agency’s exceptional performance in the previous year.
“The PCSO was able to pay 100% of the mandatory contributions required by law to all recipient agencies and remit a total amount of PHP 4.75 billion,” said Corpus.
He added that the PCSO reported a validated Performance Scorecard rating of 92.03 percent in 2022, which is a marked increase from its previous 56.30 percent rating.
Corpus also lauded the PCSO leadership, as he remarked that he expects “steady improvement” due to the “forward-looking leadership of Chairperson Cua and General Manager [Melquiades] Robles.”
Cua said he is humbled by the recognition, while acknowledging that the agency’s collective effort was responsible for their success.
“I am humbled by this recognition. Pero hindi natin makakamit ang mga ito kung wala ang lahat ng staff na pursigido sa paglingkod sa ating mga kababayan,” said the Chairman.
Cua also thanked other government agencies and oversight bodies for “their invaluable support and the enabling environment which allows the PCSO to thrive.”
