The Civil Service Commission (CSC) reiterates Policy on the Recognition of Muslim Holidays for Purposes of the Observance of ππ’πͺππ’π΅πΆπ ππ΄π³π’ ππ’π ππͺβπ³π’π« on 8 February 2024.
Per CSC Memorandum Circular No. 3, s. 2024 issued on 7 February, all Muslim government officials and employees are free from office work on 8 February 2024 without being marked absent.
To reiterate, all Muslim government officials and employees are free from office work on 08 February 2024 without being marked absent.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued CSC Resolution No. 81-1277 dated 13 November
1981, on the Request for Recognition of Muslim Holidays in Areas Outside the Autonomous
Regions, pursuant to Sections 2 and 5 of Presidential Decree (P.D.) No. 291, dated 12 September 1973, as amended by P.D. No. 322, dated 26 October 1973, recognizing Muslim Holidays.
Per Memorandum of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos dated 22 January 2024, the
observance of 1445 Hijrah (2024) Isra Wal Miβraj or Night Journey and Ascension of Prophet
Muhammad S.A.W. will fall on the 27th day of the Islamic lunar month of Rajab 1445 Hijrah,
corresponding to 08 February 2024.
In light of the foregoing and based on Article 172 of P.D. No. 1083, dated 04 February 1977, all
Muslim government officials and employees in places other than those enumerated under Article 170 of the same law shall be excused from reporting to office in order that they may observe the Muslim Holiday.
To reiterate, all Muslim government officials and employees are free from office work on 08 February 2024 without being marked absent.
Per Article 170 of P.D. No. 1083, dated 04 February 1977, the Lailatul Isra Wal Miβraj holiday shall be officially observed in the following provinces and cities: Provinces of Basilan, Lanao del
Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sulu, Tawi- Tawi, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur, and in the Cities of Cotabato, Iligan, Marawi, Pagadian, and Zamboanga and in such other Muslim provinces and cities as may hereafter be created.
