CATTLE PRODUCTION FACILITY EMPOWERS BONTOC FARMERS

Mayor Noel Alinsub, in collaboration with the National Dairy Authority (NDA) Region 8 Team, conducted an onsite validation of the Cattle Production Facility in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

The inspection was conducted under the auspices of the National Dairy Authority’s Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan—the COCO-DAIRY Integration Program.

The team, led by NDA Region 8 Isobelle Salvoro, Department Assistant Manager Brian Desidero, and Department Manager Monina Mangubat, was further honored by the presence of Barbara Banes, the representative of Senator Cynthia Villar.

The joint initiative sought to guarantee the effectiveness and prosperity of the dairy production facility.

The examination aimed to evaluate the advancements made in the cattle area, encompassing cow sheds, milk processing facilities, and a dedicated forage area.

The facility is positioned to transform cattle production in the municipality, making a substantial contribution to the local dairy industry.

Throughout the tour, officials scrutinized the cow sheds equipped with modern amenities, the milk processing unit, and the forage area strategically designed to ensure optimal nutrition for the cattle.

Alinsub expressed his enthusiasm about the project.

The NDA officials displayed excitement upon discovering that the initial count of 50 cattle had swiftly risen to 51 within a short span, underscoring the program’s efficacy. This success reflects not only the diligence of the farmers involved but also the support and guidance provided by the local government.

Alinsub, often tagged as an “Action Man,” was acknowledged by authorities as a proactive and committed leader.

The Municipality of Bontoc’s exclusive role as the recipient of the COCO-DAIRY Integration Program in the entire Eastern Visayas Region attests his capability and dedication.

As the site inspection concluded, the officials and representatives expressed optimism about the positive impact the Cattle Production Facility would bring to the Municipality of Bontoc, fostering economic growth, technological advancement, and improved livelihoods for the local community.
