Quezon City 2nd District Rep. Precious Hipolito Castelo and Councilor Winnie Castelo are offering a mass for victims of Covid-19 and for healthcare workers who succumbed to the deadly virus.
The mass will be held at the St. Peter Parish: Shrine of Leaders along Commonwealth Avenue at 10 a.m. on March 16, a year since the pandemic exploded and the government started imposing hard lockdowns and calibrated quarantines to contain the spread of Covid-19.
“We remember and pay tribute to friends, colleagues, constituents, and people whom we know, as well as others we do not know but who have died because of Covid-19. We offer our prayers to them and their families,” Rep. Castelo said.
She said that the mass will also be a thanksgiving to countless healthcare workers and other frontliners in the war against Covid-19.
“We express our heartfelt gratitude to them for putting their lives at risk to save others.”
“We express our heartfelt gratitude to them for putting their lives at risk to save others. A grateful nation will never forget the selfless sacrifice of our real-life heroes. We hope, and pray, that they remain in good health always,” she said.

The Castelos are inviting their friends and constituents to attend the mass and the short program that will follow.
In the program, the Castelos will also honor and thank donors and others who have helped them in their various pandemic response projects, like providing free transportation to healthcare personnel and other employees, and giving free food and medicines to the poor, and giving free bicycles to workers.
“We cannot thank them enough for the help that they have extended and continue to extend to us and to our people during this time of pandemic,” Councilor Castelo said.
Their group of donor-friends, fondly known as Warriors Against Covid-19, have largely remained anonymous in this fight against the virus, in the same way that everyday heroes are in this difficult and challenging time in our lives.
