BONG GO VISITS CAPIZ SUPER HEALTH CENTER

Senator Bong Go, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, reaffirmed his commitment to bringing accessible and quality healthcare services closer to the grassroots during the inauguration of a Super Health Center in President Roxas, Capiz recently.

The newly inaugurated Super Health Center in President Roxas is one of 12 Super Health Centers funded across the province of Capiz, a significant milestone in the pursuit of improved healthcare infrastructure in the grassroots.

Dito pa lang sa inyong bayan, meron nang maaasahang serbisyong medikal,” Go said during the event.

Earlier the same day, the legislator also attended the inauguration of a Super Health Center in Pilar town, further underscoring his continued support for health-related projects in Capiz.

The lawmaker likewise expressed his gratitude to the local government of President Roxas, led by Mayor Receliste “Tanoy” Escolin, for their commitment to uplifting the quality of life of their constituents through proactive health initiatives.

The Super Health Center, designed to serve as a medium-level health facility, will offer various services including consultation, laboratory and diagnostic services, birthing facilities, and minor surgical procedures. It also aims to ease the load of larger hospitals by acting as the first line of care within communities.

Following the inauguration ceremony, he led a motorcade as a show of unity and appreciation to the local residents. Go later joined the province’s Capiztahan festivities, strengthening his connection with the Capiznon community.

In a heartfelt gesture of support, he was declared an adopted son of the province of Capiz, recognizing his ongoing efforts to help the province and his commitment to public service.

Aside from the Super Health Centers, he also promoted other health-related programs such as the Malasakit Centers, which have served more than 17 million Filipinos.

Go then expressed concern for the public’s well-being and encouraged them to seek additional assistance, particularly for health issues, by visiting the Malasakit Center at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City if they need medical assistance from the government.

The Malasakit Centers program was institutionalized under Republic Act No. 11463, which Go principally sponsored and authored.

He also principally sponsored and is one of the authors of RA 11959, also known as the Regional Specialty Centers Act. The law mandates the establishment of regional specialty centers within existing Department of Health regional hospitals to bring specialized medical services closer to Filipinos across the country.

In Roxas City, he pushed for the funding of a five-storey new Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital building in Barangay Lanot, reinforcing his health agenda for the region.
