More than 20,000 residents of Biliran province received assistance from the provincial government.
Biliran Governor Gerard Espina said that for the past five months, 17,393 got free medicines, 330 received medical financial aid and 97 are recipients of burial assistance.
The provincial government also gave away wheelchairs, assistance to individuals in crisis situations, financial aid for new graduates and reading glasses.
Espina said they were able to do it through satellite offices.

Each office has three staff and a laptop to enable residents to virtually talk to the governor and other officials of Biliran.
The provincial government was able to set up seven satellite offices located in the towns of Almeria, Biliran, Cabucgayan, Caibiran, Culaba, Kawayan and Maripipi.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to bring our services closer to people who are living far from Naval, the provincial capital,” he concluded.
