Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez led the turnover ceremony for the Bacolod Arts Center and BCNHS Sports and Cultural Center of the Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS).
The event featured a ribbon-cutting and the Turnover of the Key of Responsibility.
“Providing quality training ground for athletes is important for their safety.”
In his opening message, Benitez recognized the importance of providing a quality training ground for athletes for their safety.
“The Bacolod City Arts, Sports, and Cultural Center at BCNHS now has brand-new floors,” the mayor said.
“Gintingwaan gid naton nga ma-renovate ini, kag amat-amat naton ibalik sa iya original—or even better—form para sa kaayuhan sang mga estudyante kag pumuluyo nga magamit sini,” he added in the local dialect.
“Wood tile was utilized for the renovation of the basketball court, making BCNHS the very first public school to have such material.”
Benitez also shared that the inauguration is the result of the 10 million project allotted by the Special Education Fund wherein wood tile was utilized for the renovation of the basketball court, making BCNHS the very first public school to have such material.
He also mentioned that the Local School Board will pass another appropriation for the total renovation of the center.
Present during the ceremony were Congressman Greg Gasataya; Councilors Thaddy Sayson, Em Ang, Al Espino, Jason Villarosa and Lady Gles Pallen; City Engineer’s Office Head Engr. Loben Ceballos, BCNHS Principal IV Richard Gelangre, and Superintendent OIC – Office of the Schools Division Dennis Develos.
