Bacolod City has launched an online animal welfare concerns desk for the public and pet owners.
The City government launched the project as part of the observance of Rabies Awareness Month.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said the initiative would be implemented by the City Veterinary Office together with various advocates in the city.

The mayor explained Bacolod residents can use #IsugidKayMayor QR (quick response) code and link to report concerning: impounding of strays; aggressive, and uncontrollable dogs or cats; animal abuse case; rabid dogs; request for kapon; request for rabies vaccine; report of irresponsible pet ownership; adoptive drive; rehoming/fostering/rescue; emergencies like accidents and illnesses.

“Our various volunteer groups will be happy to assist and an education campaign will go hand in hand with the city’s rabies vaccination campaign and will also go hand in hand with the city’s Rabies Vaccination campaign in Barangays,” he added.
