Bacolod City is named by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry as one of the Top 5 finalists in the City Level 1B category for the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit Awards.
“This recognition reflects our commitment to building a business-friendly city and driving growth in Bacolod,” Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said.
The cities in the top five are: Bacolod, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Mandaue.
The cities in the top five, listed alphabetically, are:
– Bacolod City
– Baguio City
– Cagayan de Oro City
– Iloilo City
– Mandaue City
Among 17 highly urbanized cities (HUCs) outside NCR, 11 participated in the PCCI’s Search for the Most Business-Friendly LGU.
The five finalists in the City Level 1B each received special recognition from the PCCI for “exemplifying commendable initiatives towards good governance reforms that promote trade and investments and significantly contribute to local economic development”.
Each LGU received a certificate of recognition in a ceremony held recently at the PCCI Office in Taguig City.
City Administrator Dr. Lucille Gelvolea received recognition on behalf of Bacolod City.

Joining her at the event were City Treasurer Arlene Memoria, Department of Local Development and Investment Promotion (DLEDIP) Head Dr. Mae Llamas, and Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) Head Stella Rayos.
