The Art Association of Bacolod-Negros (AAB-N), in collaboration with Bacolod City Government, celebrated the National Arts Month through an art exhibition sited at City Government Lobby.
Titled “Ti-on sang Taliambong,” Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez officiated the ribbon cutting ceremony along with SP Committee Head on History, Culture and Arts Councilor Em Ang, City Tourism Head Teresa Manalili, AAB-N Treasurer Patty Jane Ku Ong, and Rodney Martinez, founding member and former president of the art association.
A total of 34 participating artists from AAB-N exhibited their artworks.

“The artworks are on sale and its proceeds will fund future projects of the association such as free painting workshops for disadvantaged kids in the city,” Benitez explained.
Mike “Noy” Pillora of the band “Asin”, who is an honorary member of AAB-N, and Agustin Chavez Jr. also rendered an acoustic performance in the event.
“I plan to staple cultural and arts activities possibly once a week every month to sustain the endeavor.”
Benitez shared the forthcoming Bacolod Museum to highlight Bacolodnon artists as he sought the need to improve the promotion of City’s arts and talents.

AAB-N is the longest-running art group in Negros Island and second in the country next to the Art Association of the Philippines (AAP). This event is a primer for the association’s 50th anniversary in 2025.
The exhibit will be from Feb. 20 until Feb. 28, 2023.
