Bacolod City witnessed a momentous event as the Bacolod E-jeepney Launching Ceremony and Contract Signing took place at the BCGC Main lobby.
Mayor Albee Benitez, alongside Congressman Stephen “Caraps” Paduano, Councilors Thaddy Sayson, Al Espino, Celia Flor, Em Ang, Simple Distrito, Jason Villarosa and Vladi Gonzalez, traditional and modernized jeepney operators, CENECO GM Atty. Arnel Lapore, LTO Bacolod Chief Mr. Renato Novero and Landbank Managers gathered to commemorate this significant step towards a greener future.
“We’re launching our e-jeep after six months since we first met on our state visit to China. This is not just about talking. I would like to commend chairman Li for making sure that it becomes a reality,” Benitez said.
The event highlighted the signing of the Industrial Complex Investment Intention Agreement between Bacolod City and Fenchuen and the Purchasing Contract between Cebu People’s Multi-purpose Cooperative and Fengchuen.
“They are thinking of an industrial complex, not just a manufacturing plant.”
“At first, they just want(ed) to build a factory but now, they want to already include the auto parts suppliers. They are thinking of an industrial complex, not just a manufacturing plant,” the mayor explained.
Notable attendees included auto parts suppliers from Huaman-Tang Xioaping, Hongyu-Jin Chunchua, Shunda Intelligent Auto-Gao Jianfei, and FC Chairman Li Longde, FC GM Hae Il Jeong, Longmax Yang Yuhui, ENPLUS CEO An Youngmin, and ENPLUS VP Park Jongsung, underscoring the collaborative effort behind this endeavor.
A major highlight of the event was the generous donation made by company FengChuen to Bacolod City, donating two units of e-jeepney with a fast charger aimed at motivating the adoption of electric vehicles in the city.
The e-jeepneys will provide a clean and efficient mode of public transportation, benefiting both passengers and the environment.
“The Bacolod E-jeepney Launching Ceremony and Contract Signing symbolize the city’s dedication to embracing electric vehicles as a viable and sustainable transportation option.”
