“I will give P500,000 as reward for the surrenderors of the New People’s Army,” announced Apayao Governor Elias Bulut Jr. during the 2023 Indigenous Peoples Month Celebration and 26th IPRA commemoration held at Apayao Tourism Sports Complex (ATSC) grounds in San Gregorio, Luna, Apayao.
The message came after the army clashed with the rebels anew in Upper Atok, Flora last week in which one of the insurgents was killed.
The communists have been the cause of problems on public safety and poverty in many areas in the country in which Apayao is one of those which experienced the negative impacts, stifling progress and retarding developments.
In his message, Bulut condemned the inhumane activities, practices, and ideologies of the Communist Party of the Philippines- New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) against the government’s plans towards better lives of the people.
